SongCheck MCP server
Ask your AI to check whether a song, image, or video was made by AI, and get a verdict with a probability.

SongCheck is a helper that lets your AI tell you whether a music file, image, or video looks AI-generated. You point it at a file or a whole folder, and it comes back with a verdict and a percentage. It is handy if you receive tracks from other people and want a quick second opinion.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to SongCheck, a detector that runs online. Once it is set up, your AI can send a file to SongCheck and bring the answer back into your chat.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like "is this song AI-generated?" and give it the file path. The AI passes the file to this helper, and the helper sends it to the SongCheck service for analysis. SongCheck looks at the audio (or the image or video) and returns a verdict such as likely AI-generated, uncertain, or likely human, along with a probability percentage and any provenance clues. Your AI then shows you that result in plain words in the chat. You can also ask it to check a whole folder of tracks at once.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Check a single song file and get an AI or human verdict
- See an AI probability percentage and a confidence level
- Look for provenance signals like Content Credentials or SynthID
- Check an image or video for signs of AI generation
- Scan an entire music folder and see which tracks are AI
- Check whether the SongCheck service is up and running
Try asking your AI
- “Use SongCheck to tell me if ~/Downloads/track.mp3 is AI-generated.”
- “Analyze this file for AI content: /Users/me/Music/demo.wav”
- “Scan my Music/Inbox folder and list which tracks look AI-generated.”
- “Is this video AI-generated? The file is at ~/Desktop/clip.mp4”
What it gives back to you
You get a verdict in the chat, such as likely AI-generated, uncertain, or likely human. Along with it comes an AI probability percentage, a confidence level, and any provenance hints the service found. For a folder scan, you get a list of the tracks with their verdicts. It is a read-only check, so nothing on your computer is changed.
Before you start
What you need
