BICScan MCP server

by ahnlabio · official

Check how risky a crypto wallet address or domain is, and see what it holds.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Is this wallet address risky? 0x1234abcd”, the BICScan MCP server connects it to BICScan, and you get back risk score and token list.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to BICScan, a service that scores crypto wallets and websites for risk. It is handy if you ever receive a wallet address or a link from someone and want a quick second opinion before you trust it. You do not need to be a crypto expert to use it.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a little helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to BICScan, a service that checks blockchain addresses and domains. Once it is set up, you can just ask your AI a question and it will look the answer up through BICScan for you.

What this MCP server does

You type a question in your AI chat, like asking whether a wallet address looks safe. Your AI passes that address to this helper. The helper sends it to the BICScan service, which scans the address and works out a risk score. The answer comes back into your chat as a number and some details, so you can decide what to do next.

What you can do with it

  • Check the risk score of a crypto wallet address
  • Look up the risk score of a website domain or a dApp link
  • See which coins and tokens an address currently holds
  • Compare risk scores across several addresses
  • Ask about an ENS name (a readable crypto name like a username)
  • Get a quick read on an address before you send funds to it

Try asking your AI

  • “Is this wallet address risky? 0x1234abcd...”
  • “What is the risk score for example.com?”
  • “Show me what tokens this address holds: 0xabcd...”
  • “Check the risk score for vitalik.eth”

What it gives back to you

You get back a risk score from 0 to 100, where higher means riskier. For addresses, you also get a list of the coins and tokens it holds. Everything shows up right in your chat as a short answer or a small list, so you do not have to open another website.

Before you start

What you need

  • A free BICScan account at bicscan.io
  • A BICScan API key (a kind of password for apps; you create one for free on the site under Create App)
  • The Claude desktop app, or another AI app that supports MCP servers
  • Python 3.10 or newer and uv, or Docker, depending on how you run it

Good to know

The risk score is a guide, not a guarantee, so do not treat a low score as full safety for money you cannot afford to lose.

Install it with your AI
