OTTASIA MCP server

by AIweather-Anurag

Ask your AI where a movie or show is streaming in 30 Asian and Middle Eastern countries.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Where can I watch Pathaan in Saudi Arabia?”, the OTTASIA MCP server connects it to OTTASIA, and you get back list of streaming services.

This is a small helper that lets your AI assistant answer the question "where can I watch this show, in this country?" It covers 30 streaming markets across Asia and the Middle East, including India, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt. It is handy if you travel, live abroad, or just want to know which app actually has the title you are looking for.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill or one new connection. This helper connects your AI to OTTASIA, a website that tracks which streaming services carry which movies and shows in each country. Once it is connected, you ask in normal words and the AI looks it up for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "where can I watch Squid Game in Indonesia?" Your AI passes that question to this helper. The helper asks the OTTASIA website, which keeps the streaming data up to date. The answer comes back into your chat as a short list of services and links. You never leave the conversation and you do not need an account.

What you can do with it

  • Find which streaming services carry a specific movie or show in a chosen country
  • List the newest titles added to a service like Netflix, Wavve or Shahid
  • Search by name when you are not sure of the exact title
  • Check availability across 30 Asian and Middle Eastern markets
  • Compare where a title streams in different countries
  • Look up recent K-dramas, Bollywood films or anime arrivals

Try asking your AI

  • “Where can I watch Pathaan in Saudi Arabia?”
  • “What's new on Netflix in India this month?”
  • “Search OTTASIA for the office and show me the matches”
  • “Any new K-dramas added to Wavve in Korea?”

What it gives back to you

You get back a short list in the chat: the streaming services that carry the title, plus links to OTTASIA where you can see more. For new arrivals, you get a list of recent titles with the service and country. For searches, you get several matching titles so you can pick the right one. Everything appears as plain text you can read and click.

Before you start

What you need

  • The Claude desktop app (or another AI app that supports MCP servers)
  • Node.js installed on your computer, so the npx command can run

Good to know

It only looks things up and cannot change anything, but the streaming availability it reports can change over time, so double-check inside the streaming app before you subscribe.
