Desearch MCP server
by Desearch-ai · official
Lets your AI search the web, X posts, and find people and creators online.
Desearch is a search service made for AI assistants. This MCP server connects your AI to it, so you can ask for web results, X posts, or lists of people and creators, and get real answers back. It is handy if you research topics, track what people say on X, or look for creators to work with.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Desearch, a search service. Once it is connected, your AI can look things up on the web and on X, or find people and creators, when you ask it to.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question in normal words, like you always do. The AI passes your request to this helper, and the helper sends it to Desearch. Desearch searches the web, X, or its people database and sends the results back. Your AI then reads those results and writes you a plain answer, with links and details, right in the chat.
What you can do with it
- Search the web for news, articles, and pages on any topic
- Search X posts by keyword, user, date, language, or popularity
- Read a public web page and give you its text
- Find people and creators on X, YouTube, LinkedIn, or TikTok by description
- Check the status and cost of a people search you started
- List everyone your past searches found, with filters
- See trending topics for a location on X
Try asking your AI
- “Search the web for the latest news on AI”
- “Find recent X posts about our product launch from verified accounts”
- “Read this page and summarize it for me: https://example.com/article”
- “Find 10 TikTok skincare creators with a public email”
What it gives back to you
You get answers written in plain language, usually with links and short previews. Web and X searches come back as lists of results with titles, links, and snippets. A people search runs in the background and shows people one by one as they are found, each with a fit score, a short reason, audience size, location, and any public contacts. It also tells you the status and the cost of the search.
Before you start
What you need
- A Desearch account and API key (a kind of password for apps; you get one free from the Desearch console)
- An AI app that supports MCP servers, like the Claude desktop app
- For the local option: Node.js installed on your computer
Good to know
People Search costs money from your Desearch balance, so check the reserved cost before you start one, and remember the AI can read public pages and X posts on your behalf.
