Driflyte MCP server
by serkan-ozal · official
Lets your AI look up topic-specific knowledge from web pages Driflyte has crawled and indexed.

Driflyte is a service that crawls websites and keeps an organized, topic-tagged copy of what it finds. This MCP server connects your AI assistant to that collection, so it can pull in real content instead of guessing. It is handy if you want your AI to answer questions using pages it has actually read.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Driflyte, a place where web pages have been crawled and sorted by topic. Once connected, your AI can ask Driflyte for relevant pages and use them when answering you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about a subject. Your AI uses this helper to talk to Driflyte. Driflyte looks through the pages it has crawled and indexed, finds the ones that match your topic and question, and sends the best matches back. Your AI then reads those pages and writes an answer for you, grounded in what it found. You can also ask your AI to first list which topics Driflyte currently has content for.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- See which topics Driflyte has crawled and indexed
- Search crawled pages for a specific topic and question
- Pull the most relevant documents back into your chat
- Get short passages from pages instead of whole sites
- Ground your AI's answers in real crawled web content
- Ask follow-up questions using the same topic
Try asking your AI
- “What topics does Driflyte have content for right now?”
- “Search Driflyte for recent information about electric vehicle batteries.”
- “Using Driflyte, find pages about Kubernetes autoscaling and summarize them.”
- “Look up Driflyte content on GitHub issues about this library and tell me the common problems.”
What it gives back to you
You get back a list of matching documents, each with a chunk of the page content, some details about where it came from, and a relevance score between 0 and 1. Your AI usually turns that into a short summary or a direct answer in the chat. If you ask for topics, you get a simple list of names. You will not see raw files, just text and details in the conversation.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 18 or newer if you run the server on your own computer
- An AI assistant that supports MCP, like Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, or ChatGPT developer mode
- Nothing else: Driflyte is free right now and needs no signup
Good to know
Requests are limited to 100 per 5 minutes per IP address, so very heavy use may be slowed down.
