nodriver MCP server
by andresolbach
Lets your AI drive a real Chrome browser that websites treat as a normal visitor, not a robot.

This is a helper that lets your AI open and use a real Chrome browser on your computer. It is made for sites that normally block automated browsers, so pages load instead of showing a "checking your browser" wall. It is handy if you want your AI to look things up, fill in forms, or collect information from sites that are picky about who visits.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot open a website or click anything. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill. This one connects your AI to a real Chrome browser, so when you ask it to visit a page or fill a form, it can actually do that for you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to go to a website or do something on it. Your AI passes that request to this helper. The helper opens a real Chrome window and does the clicking, typing, and scrolling for you. It can also read what is on the page and report back. Then you get the answer, the text, or a screenshot in your chat.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Open a website and read what is on the page
- Fill in forms and click buttons
- Take screenshots of pages
- Check what requests a page makes behind the scenes
- Save and reuse a logged-in session
- Look at cookies and stored data on a site
- Run more than one browser at the same time for different tasks
Try asking your AI
- “Go to this news site and summarize the top five stories”
- “Open this page, log in with my saved session, and download the report”
- “Take a screenshot of this product page and tell me the price”
- “Check what network requests this page makes when it loads”
What it gives back to you
You get back plain answers, lists of links or text, screenshots, and sometimes files like a PDF or a saved page. The AI shows these in your chat, so you can read them right away. If it filled a form or clicked something, it tells you what it did. If it could not confirm an action, it says so instead of pretending it worked.
Before you start
What you need
- Google Chrome installed on your computer
- Python 3.12 or newer
- uv (a tool for installing Python programs; the README shows how to get it)
Good to know
This tool can change or delete things on websites and can read private data from pages you are logged into, so use it carefully and only on sites you trust.
