by aparajithn

Lets your AI read web pages, take screenshots, pull out links and details, and run Google searches for you.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Read this page and summarize it for me”, the Agent Scraper MCP server connects it to A web page, and you get back A clean summary in the chat.

This is a helper that lets your AI open web pages and bring back what is on them. Instead of you copying and pasting text from a site, you just ask, and the AI fetches the page and hands you the useful parts. It is handy for anyone who gathers information from websites, like research, price checks, or collecting links.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to web pages and Google search, so it can go look things up online for you. You stay in the chat, and the helper does the fetching behind the scenes.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "read this page and summarize it." The AI passes your request to this helper. The helper visits the web page, strips out the ads and clutter, and pulls out the clean text or the specific bits you asked for. Then it sends the result back, and your AI shows it to you in the chat. It can also snap a picture of a page, list all the links on it, or run a Google search.

What you can do with it

  • Read any web page and give you a clean summary
  • Pull specific details from a page, like prices or titles
  • Take a screenshot of a page, full page or just the visible part
  • List all the links on a page, with an optional filter
  • Grab a page's title, description, and social preview info
  • Run a Google search and return the top results

Try asking your AI

  • “Read this article and give me a short summary: https://example.com/article”
  • “What is the price and title on this product page: https://example.com/product”
  • “Take a screenshot of https://example.com and show it to me”
  • “Search Google for python web scraping and list the top 10 results”

What it gives back to you

You get back plain text or markdown you can read right in the chat, like a cleaned-up article or a short list of items. For structured scraping, you get a small table of the fields you asked for, such as title and price. Screenshots come back as an image. Link and search results come back as lists with titles and web addresses.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AI app that supports MCP servers, like Cline or Claude Desktop
  • The server address: https://agent-scraper-mcp.onrender.com/mcp

Good to know

The free tier allows 50 requests per day per IP address, and after that each request costs a small amount of USDC cryptocurrency, so keep an eye on how much you use.
