OpenSDR MCP server
by arif-js
Let your AI find sales prospects, check their emails, spot buying signals and draft outreach.
OpenSDR is a helper program that turns your AI assistant into a sales prospecting sidekick. You tell it who you want to reach, and it finds people, checks their work emails, looks for reasons to reach out now, and writes a first draft of the message. It is made for people who do sales outreach or recruiting and want to keep using their own tools instead of a mystery cloud service.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program you add to your AI app that gives it a new skill or a link to another service. OpenSDR is that helper for sales prospecting. Connect it, and your AI can look up contacts, check emails and stage campaigns for you, using your own accounts and your own API keys.
What this MCP server does
You describe the kind of person or company you want to reach, for example VP of Engineering at fintech companies. Your AI passes that to OpenSDR, which searches a contact database for matching people. Then it runs each person through a chain of email finders until one gives a verified work email, stopping as soon as it finds a good one to save you money. It can also look for buying signals like funding news or hiring, each with a link to the source. Finally, it writes a short outreach brief that your AI turns into a message, and it can stage the contacts into your email tool or CRM, but only after you approve a preview.
What you can do with it
- Find people who match your ideal customer profile
- Look up and verify work email addresses
- Spot buying signals like funding rounds or new hires
- Draft personalized outreach with real, sourced facts
- Save prospects to a local list and export them as a CSV file
- Stage leads into your Instantly campaign as drafts only
- Sync approved records into HubSpot
Try asking your AI
- “Find VP Engineering leaders at B2B software companies and get their work emails.”
- “Check for buying signals on these five companies and show me the sources.”
- “Draft a short cold email to each person, citing one real fact about their company.”
- “Add the approved leads to my Instantly campaign as drafts, do not send anything.”
What it gives back to you
You get back tidy lists of people and companies with names, titles, verified emails and links to any signals found. You also get an outreach brief with sourced facts and a suggested structure, plus a preview list before anything is pushed to Instantly or HubSpot. The chat shows exactly what will happen and waits for your yes before it does it.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 22.12 or newer on your computer
- A Claude Desktop or Claude Code app (or another MCP-compatible client)
- Optional API keys for Apollo, Hunter, Tavily or Exa if you want real data instead of the demo mode
- Optional Instantly and HubSpot keys if you want to stage campaigns or sync records
Good to know
It can write to your Instantly and HubSpot accounts when you approve a preview, so check the preview carefully and keep do-not-contact rules up to date.
Install it with your AI
Add OpenSDR MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check OpenSDR MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Sales reps, founders doing their own outreach, recruiters and small marketing teams who want AI help with prospecting without giving up their own tools or data.
