Seal MCP server

by aurumflux20

Helps your AI make sure a payment or other one-time action only happens once, even if something goes wrong.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Charge this order for $49”, the Seal MCP server keeps repeating: check the record, allow or stop, write a receipt, watch for repeats, and you get back allowed, already done, or on hold.

Seal is a helper for people who let an AI assistant move money or trigger other actions that cannot be undone. It makes sure the same charge does not get sent twice when a message is lost or a retry happens. It is handy if you use AI to run payments, refunds, or any action where doing it twice would be a problem.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Seal, which keeps track of one-time actions like payments. When you ask your AI to charge someone, the AI uses this helper to check that the action has not already been done, and to record what happened.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to do something like charge an order. The AI passes that request to Seal. Seal checks a shared record to see if this exact action was already started or finished. If it is new, Seal lets it go ahead and then writes a receipt. If it was already done, Seal hands back the old receipt instead of running it again. If someone else is in the middle of doing it, Seal tells your AI to wait or stand down.

What you can do with it

  • Stop the same payment from being sent twice when a retry happens
  • Check whether a charge was already completed before running it again
  • Record a receipt for every action so you can prove what happened
  • Ask the payment provider what it actually recorded, not just what your AI thinks
  • Freeze spending on a path if the provider shows money moved outside the system
  • Let a path earn more independence over time based on its clean record
  • Verify that the record of past actions has not been changed or reordered

What it gives back to you

You get back a clear answer in the chat: either the action was allowed and a receipt was created, or it was already done and you see the old receipt, or someone else is handling it. It can also give you a summary of what the payment provider actually recorded. If something looks off, it tells you and may freeze that spending path.

Before you start

What you need

  • A Postgres database (a place to store the shared record; Seal needs its address, called a DSN)
  • Python 3.10 or newer, or Docker
  • If you want to check with a payment provider, a test key from that provider (for example a Stripe test key)

Good to know

This server is about money and other actions that cannot be undone, so a wrong setup or a missing database can leave payments in an unclear state; always test with a provider's test mode first.

Install it with your AI

Add Seal MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
