This is a small helper that lets your AI assistant search through every episode of Lenny's Podcast. You ask a question in plain words, and it finds what guests actually said about product management, strategy, or careers. It is handy if you work in product and want real quotes instead of generic advice.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something useful. This one connects your AI to Lenny's Podcast transcripts, so it can look things up there for you. You just ask a question, and the helper goes and finds the answer.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like what does Brian Chesky say about design. The AI passes your question to this helper. The helper searches a local copy of every podcast transcript and finds the most relevant moments. It sends back the speaker, the episode, the date, and a YouTube link that jumps to the exact second. Your AI then shows you the quote and the link in the chat.

What you can do with it

  • Search every episode for advice on a topic like product-market fit
  • Find exact phrases a guest said, like a specific quote
  • Browse episodes by guest name, views, or date
  • Get the full transcript of a single episode
  • Pull a random piece of wisdom about leadership or strategy
  • Check how many episodes are in the database and when it was last updated

Try asking your AI

  • “Search Lenny's podcast for advice on product-market fit”
  • “What does Brian Chesky say about design?”
  • “What are the newest episodes?”
  • “Give me random wisdom about leadership”

What it gives back to you

You get back a short list of matching moments, each with the guest's name, the episode, the date, and a YouTube link to that exact second. For a full episode request, you get the episode details and optionally the whole transcript. For a random wisdom request, you get one quote. Everything shows up as normal text in your chat.
