AgentBase MCP server

by AgentBase1

Let your AI search and fetch ready-made instruction files from the AgentBase registry.

AgentBase is a free online library of instruction files for AI agents. These are ready-made prompts and rules you can hand to an AI, like a recipe card for a specific job. This MCP server connects your AI to that library so it can look things up for you.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill or one new connection. This helper connects your AI to AgentBase, an online registry of instruction files. Once it is set up, your AI can search that registry and pull files back for you when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like "find me a safety filter for customer support." Your AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper talks to the AgentBase website and looks through its registry of instruction files. It brings back matching files, their names, and their details. Your AI then shows you the results in the chat, and you can ask it to fetch a specific one.

What you can do with it

  • Search the registry by keyword, domain, or type
  • Fetch a specific instruction file by its ID
  • List all categories and domains available
  • See which instruction files are featured or top-rated
  • Pull a system prompt, skill, or workflow into your current chat
  • Find safety filters for a production AI setup

Try asking your AI

  • “Search AgentBase for a customer support system prompt”
  • “What categories of instruction files are on AgentBase?”
  • “Show me the featured instruction files on AgentBase”
  • “Get me the file with this ID from AgentBase”

What it gives back to you

You get back lists of instruction files with their names, types, and short details. If you ask for one specific file, you get its full contents. The results show up right in your chat, like a normal reply from your AI. You can then ask your AI to use one of those files in your current conversation.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AI app that supports MCP servers, like the Claude desktop app or Claude Code
  • Node.js installed on your computer (the free program that runs npx)

Good to know

This server only reads from the AgentBase registry, so it does not change or delete anything on your computer, but the instruction files it returns are written by other people and you should read them before using them.

Install it with your AI

Add AgentBase MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check AgentBase MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.

Who it's for

People who build or run AI agents and want a shared library of prompts, skills, and safety rules instead of writing everything from scratch.
