Echo MCP server

by BrunoKrugel

Lets your AI call the web APIs your team already built with the Echo framework, without extra setup.

This is a small add-on for people who build web services with a tool called Echo, which is a way to write the behind-the-scenes part of a website or app in the Go programming language. It takes the web addresses your service already answers to and turns them into skills your AI assistant can use. It is handy if you or your team already have an Echo service and want an AI to be able to talk to it.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another app or service. This one connects your AI to a web service built with Echo, so the AI can look things up or send requests there for you. You ask in plain words, and the helper quietly does the technical part in the background.

What this MCP server does

You add this helper to the web service your team already runs. It looks at the list of web addresses that service answers to and turns each one into something your AI can call. When you ask your AI a question, the AI picks the right address, sends the request through this helper, and waits for the answer. The helper passes the answer back to the AI, and the AI tells you what it found in normal words. You never have to type a web address or look up how the service works.

What you can do with it

  • Ask your AI to fetch a record from your service by its ID
  • Have your AI create a new item through your service
  • Let your AI list or search items your service keeps
  • Tell your AI to update an existing entry
  • Limit which parts of your service the AI is allowed to touch
  • Reuse the documentation your team already wrote so the AI understands each address

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat, in normal words. If you asked for a record, the AI shows you the fields it found. If you asked it to create or change something, it tells you what it did and what came back. For lists, you get a short summary or a small table rather than raw technical text.

Before you start

What you need

  • A web service built with the Echo framework in Go
  • The Go programming language installed on the machine that runs your service
  • Someone who can add a few lines of code to that service

Good to know

It can send real requests to your service, so if your service can create, change or delete data, the AI may do the same, and you should limit which addresses it is allowed to reach.

Install it with your AI

Add Echo MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Echo MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.

Who it's for

This is for developers and technical teams who already run an Echo service and want their AI assistant to be able to use it.
