Simple MCP Selenium

by brutalzinn

Let your AI drive a real web browser to click, type, and check pages for you.

This is a small helper that lets your AI control a real web browser. You ask in normal words, and the browser opens pages, clicks buttons, and fills in forms. It is handy if you test websites or repeat the same web steps over and over.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This one connects your AI to a web browser through a tool called Selenium. So when you ask, your AI can actually look at pages and do things in them for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to do something in a browser, like open a page or click a link. Your AI passes that request to this helper program. The helper uses Selenium to drive a real browser on your computer. The browser does the action, and the result comes back to your AI. Then your AI tells you what happened in the chat.

What you can do with it

  • Open a web page and read what is on it
  • Click buttons and links
  • Type text into boxes and forms
  • Check that a page shows the right thing
  • Repeat the same web steps many times
  • Run the same test for different users

Try asking your AI

  • “Open example.com and tell me the main heading”
  • “Go to our login page, type the test username and password, and click Sign in”
  • “Check that the search box on this page still works”
  • “Fill in the contact form with sample data and submit it”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat, like what the page says or whether a step worked. It can also report simple results, such as a button was clicked or a form was filled. If something fails, your AI can tell you what went wrong. You do not get files unless your AI decides to save notes itself.

Before you start

What you need

  • A computer where you can run a browser
  • Selenium and a browser driver installed (your AI or a technical friend can set this up)
  • The Simple MCP Selenium helper added to your AI app

Good to know

It controls a real browser on your computer, so it can click, type, and submit things on websites, including ones where you are logged in.

Install it with your AI

Add Simple MCP Selenium to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
