VIMO Vietnam Stock MCP server

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to a big pile of Vietnam stock market data. You ask questions in plain words, and the AI looks things up for you. It is handy if you follow HOSE, HNX or UPCOM shares and want quick answers without opening five websites.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, in this case a connection to the VIMO finance service. Once it is set up, your AI can reach out to VIMO, pull real numbers about Vietnamese stocks, and bring them back into your chat. You just ask, and the helper does the fetching.
What this MCP server does
You type a question about a Vietnamese stock, a sector or the whole market. Your AI reads the question, picks the right tool from this server, and sends the request to VIMO. What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, not files. That can be a price, a short list of stocks, a table of ratios, a sentiment label, or a few sentences of explanation from your AI. For bigger things like financial statements or screener results, you usually see a tidy list or table you can read and copy. Nothing is changed on your side; it is all read-only lookups.

What you need
- A VIMO API key (a kind of password for apps; you can get one free at vimo.cuthongthai.vn, or use the demo key for VN30 stocks only)
- Node.js installed on your computer (the free program that runs the helper)
- An AI app that supports MCP, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or Cline
Good to know
It only reads data, so it will not change or delete anything, but the free demo key is limited to VN30 stocks and has a small daily call limit.
