Inspeximus MCP server

by DanceNitra

Give your AI a long-term memory that keeps corrections and can prove what it erased.

Inspeximus is a memory store for AI assistants. It remembers facts for you across sessions, and it is built around one idea: when you correct a fact, the old version stays retired instead of creeping back. It is handy if your AI keeps repeating something you already fixed, or if you need to show later what it knew and what it deleted.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It forgets everything the moment the conversation ends. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something outside the chat. This one connects your AI to an Inspeximus memory store, so it can save facts, look them up later, and correct them when they change.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something, and it checks the Inspeximus memory store through this helper. The helper reads or writes facts in a small local database file on your computer. When you correct a fact, the helper retires the old value under that key, so saying the old thing again does not bring it back. When you ask it to forget a person, it removes those records and leaves a signed note that the deletion happened. You get the answer, the saved fact, or the proof back in your chat.

What you can do with it

  • Save a fact under a name so your AI remembers it next time
  • Correct a saved fact and keep the old value from coming back
  • Undo a correction on purpose and record that you did
  • Ask your AI what it currently knows about a topic
  • Erase everything about one person and get a signed deletion note
  • Export what was known about a person when asked
  • Check that the memory records have not been tampered with

Try asking your AI

  • “Remember that the staging database is db-7.internal under the key staging-db”
  • “What staging database do you have saved?”
  • “Correct the staging database to db-9.internal”
  • “Forget everything we have about Jane Doe and give me the deletion proof”

What it gives back to you

You get plain answers in the chat: the current value of a fact you saved, a short list of matching memories, or a confirmation that a write or correction happened. When you erase a person, you get a signed deletion note you can hand to someone else to check. When you ask what was known, you get an export of those records.

Before you start

What you need

  • Python installed on your computer
  • The inspeximus package installed (the README shows a one-line install command)
  • The Claude desktop app or another AI app that supports MCP servers
  • A folder where the memory file can live

Good to know

It can permanently erase records about a person and it writes files on your computer, so be sure before you ask it to forget someone.

Install it with your AI

Add Inspeximus MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Inspeximus MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.

Who it's for

People who run an AI assistant for days at a time and need it to remember facts correctly, plus anyone who has to show later what the AI knew or what it deleted.
