Brainy MCP server
by memokar · official
Give your AI a shared, versioned memory and task list so it can work with other AI helpers.
Brainy is a helper program you run on your own computer. It gives your AI a shared place to store notes and tasks, so different AI assistants can work together. It is handy if you use more than one AI tool and want them to share what they know.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another app. Brainy is that helper. It connects your AI to a shared brain made of Markdown notes and a task list, so your AI can look things up or add things there when you ask.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to remember something or to start a task. The AI uses Brainy to write that into a shared Markdown file or add it to a task queue. Brainy keeps track of who is doing what and can ask a human to approve certain actions. Later, another AI can read the same notes or pick up the task, so work passes smoothly between assistants.
What you can do with it
- Save notes and facts to a shared Markdown knowledge base
- Add tasks to a queue that multiple AI agents can pick up
- Claim a task so two agents do not do the same work
- Control who can see or edit each space with access rules
- See a log of who changed what and when
- Ask a human to approve a task before it runs
- Let different AI assistants hand work to each other
Try asking your AI
- “Remember that the client meeting is on Friday at 3pm.”
- “Add a task to update the project notes and assign it to the next available agent.”
- “What tasks are waiting in the queue?”
- “Show me the history of changes to the marketing notes.”
What it gives back to you
When you ask, Brainy gives back lists of tasks, notes, or answers from the shared brain. It can also show you a log of changes or confirm that a task was added or claimed. In the chat, you see plain text summaries or lists, not code.
Before you start
What you need
- A computer where you can run a small program (self-hosted)
- Git installed if you want version history
- An MCP-compatible AI app like Claude Desktop or similar
Good to know
It can change or delete shared notes and tasks, so be careful with what you ask it to do.
Install it with your AI
Add Brainy MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Brainy MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,361 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
People who use multiple AI assistants and want them to share notes and tasks without copying and pasting.
