Artifacta MCP server

by SagaPeak · official

Let your AI save, find and share the files and reports it makes, so nothing gets lost between chats.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Save this report to my Artifacta account”, the Artifacta MCP server connects it to Artifacta, and you get back your file is saved.

Artifacta is an online storage place made for the things AI assistants produce: files, reports, spreadsheets, build results. This MCP server connects your AI to that storage, so it can put its output somewhere safe and pick it up again later. It is handy if you work with an AI across many sessions and keep losing track of what it created.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. It cannot remember a file it made yesterday, and it cannot hand something to a colleague. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill, and here that skill is talking to Artifacta. Once it is connected, your AI can save its output into your Artifacta account, look it up again, and create a link you can share.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to save something it just made, like a report or a data file. The AI passes that content to this helper, and the helper uploads it to your Artifacta account along with notes about which session and which agent made it. Later, you can ask your AI to list what was saved, fetch one item back, or give you a download link. If you save the exact same file twice, Artifacta notices the identical content and does not store it twice. You can also ask for a public link that expires, so you can share one item with someone outside your account.

What you can do with it

  • Save a file, report or dataset your AI just produced
  • List everything saved in a session or by a certain agent
  • Fetch one saved item back and read its details
  • Get a temporary download link for an item
  • Create a public share link that expires after a while
  • Publish an item as a simple public web page
  • Delete an item you no longer need

Try asking your AI

  • “Save this report to Artifacta and note that it came from today's session.”
  • “Show me everything we saved in this session so far.”
  • “Give me a download link for the dataset you built earlier.”
  • “Make a public link for that summary that expires in a day.”

What it gives back to you

You get back plain answers in the chat: a list of saved items with their names and details, the contents of one item, or a link you can click. When something is saved or deleted, the AI tells you it worked and gives you the item's ID. Links come back as normal web addresses you can copy and send to someone.

Before you start

What you need

  • An Artifacta account (the free sign-up at artifacta.io works)
  • For the hosted option: nothing else, you just approve it in your browser
  • For the local option: an API key from your Artifacta dashboard, plus Node.js 20 or newer (or Python 3.10 or newer)

Good to know

Some actions change or remove things, like making a public share link or deleting an item, and those are switched off until you turn them on, so check what your AI is about to do before you approve it.

Install it with your AI

Add Artifacta MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
