FluxProof MCP server
Watch public pricing, policy and changelog pages and get told when the text changes, with the source link.
FluxProof is a service that keeps an eye on public web pages for you, like a competitor's pricing page or a company's policy page. When the wording on that page changes, it tells you what changed and shows you the before and after text. It is handy if you need to keep track of pages that other people update without telling you.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to FluxProof, the page-watching service. So when you ask your AI to check whether a page changed, it can go through FluxProof, look it up, and bring the answer back to you in the chat.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like whether a page changed, and your AI passes that request to FluxProof. FluxProof then reads the public page, compares it to the earlier version it saved, and works out whether the text is different. If something changed, it puts together a small receipt with the page address, the time it looked, and short pieces of the old and new text. Your AI then shows you that result in plain words in the chat.
What you can do with it
- Check whether a public page can be read before you set up watching
- Watch a pricing, policy or changelog page for text changes
- Get a receipt with the source link, the time, and before and after excerpts
- See the change history for a page you are watching
- Flag pages where words like price or deadline appear
- Receive change alerts through a signed webhook if your plan includes it
Try asking your AI
- “Has the pricing page at example.com changed since last week?”
- “Set up a watch on this company's terms of service page and tell me when the text changes.”
- “Show me the latest change receipt for the changelog page I am watching.”
- “Can you check whether this public page can be read before I start watching it?”
What it gives back to you
You get back a short answer in the chat, usually saying whether the page changed and when it was last looked at. If there was a change, you also see the page address, the time of the check, and small before and after pieces of the text so you can judge it yourself. On paid plans you can also get the full history and signed webhook alerts.
Before you start
What you need
- A public web page address (HTTP or HTTPS) that you want watched
- A FluxProof account if you want more than the free single-source plan
- An API key from FluxProof for the local client, set as FLUXPROOF_API_KEY
Good to know
It can only read public pages that are plain text, HTML, JSON or XML, so it cannot sign in, get past bot checks, or read pages that need JavaScript to load.
