ScrapeCheck MCP server

by FieldmodeLLC

Your AI can double-check a value it found on a web page and get a signed pass, fail, or unverifiable answer.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Does this page really say the price is 51.77 pounds?”, the ScrapeCheck MCP server connects it to Web page, and you get back pass, fail, or unverifiable.

ScrapeCheck is a helper that checks whether a value your AI found on a web page is really there. You give it the page address, the value, and the question you were trying to answer. It is handy for anyone whose AI reads prices, stock status, or other facts from websites and then acts on them.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to ScrapeCheck, a checking service. When you ask your AI to confirm something it read on a web page, the AI passes the details to ScrapeCheck, which looks at the page again and sends back a verdict your AI can show you.

What this MCP server does

You tell your AI something like: check whether this page really says the price is 51.77 pounds. Your AI sends the page address, the value, and your question to ScrapeCheck. ScrapeCheck fetches the page again from its own computers and looks for the value. It also uses a separate judge to confirm the value actually answers your question. Then it sends back a signed verdict: pass, fail, or unverifiable. Your AI shows you the result, and you can check the signature yourself later if you want.

What you can do with it

  • Confirm whether a price you saw on a page is really there
  • Check if a stock status like in stock is correct
  • Get a signed verdict you can verify later without the internet
  • Run a quick presence-only check to see if a value appears at all
  • Ask for the public key and benchmark details behind the service
  • See whether a page is server-rendered or needs JavaScript (which returns unverifiable)

Try asking your AI

  • “Check if this page really says the price is 51.77 pounds: https://example.com/product”
  • “Verify that this page lists the item as in stock”
  • “Does this page actually contain the phone number 555-0100?”
  • “Run a presence check on whether the word sold out appears on this page”

What it gives back to you

You get back a verdict word: pass, fail, or unverifiable. Along with it comes a confidence number, an id for the check, and a signature. In the chat, your AI can show you the verdict and explain what it means. You can also save the whole signed result and check it later with a small tool, even with no internet.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AI app that can use MCP servers, like the Claude desktop app
  • A way to pay small amounts in USDC on Base if you go past the free allowance (no signup or API key needed)

Good to know

It can spend small amounts of money on paid checks, and it only works on pages that are fully rendered by the server, so JavaScript-only pages come back as unverifiable.
