This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to a real Firefox browser on your own computer. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI to open a website, click buttons, fill in forms, or take a screenshot, and it actually does it in Firefox. It is handy for anyone who tests websites, checks pages, or gathers information from the web without wanting to click everything by hand.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. It cannot open a browser or touch a website. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, and this one gives it a connection to Firefox on your machine. So when you ask your AI to visit a page or grab a screenshot, the AI passes that request to this helper, and the helper drives Firefox for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like open this page and tell me what is on it. The AI sends that request to this helper program running on your computer. The helper starts or connects to Firefox and performs the action, like navigating, clicking, or filling a field. Then it sends the result back, such as the page text, a screenshot, or a list of network requests. You see the answer right in your chat.

What you can do with it

  • Open a web page in Firefox and read its text
  • Click buttons and fill in forms on a page
  • Take screenshots of a page or a specific element
  • List the network requests a page made
  • Read the browser console messages and errors
  • List files the page downloaded
  • Record a short video of the page area

Try asking your AI

  • “Open example.com and tell me what the main heading says”
  • “Go to the login page, fill in my test username and password, and click Sign in”
  • “Take a screenshot of the checkout page and show it to me”
  • “List any console errors on this page and any network requests that failed”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in your chat, like the text of a page, a summary of what happened, or a list of items such as network requests or console messages. It can also hand you a screenshot image, or save larger results to a file on your computer if you ask. If it clicked or typed something, it tells you what it did.
