FundzWatch MCP server

by Fund-z

Lets your AI look up live funding rounds, executive moves, and scored sales leads from FundzWatch.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Which companies raised money and are hiring?”, the FundzWatch MCP server connects it to FundzWatch, and you get back A list of companies.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to FundzWatch, a service that tracks business events like funding rounds, acquisitions, and executive hires. Once it is connected, you can just ask your AI questions about companies and it will pull live answers from FundzWatch. It is handy for salespeople, recruiters, and anyone who needs to know what companies are doing right now.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to FundzWatch, so when you ask about a company or a market, the AI can go look it up there and bring the answer back. You do not have to install anything complicated; you just add it once and then talk to your AI like normal.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question, like which companies raised money recently and are also hiring. Your AI passes that question to this FundzWatch helper. The helper talks to FundzWatch, which keeps daily-updated records of funding rounds, executive moves, UCC liens, and benefit-plan filings. FundzWatch sends back a list of matching companies with the details behind each one. Your AI then shows you that list in the chat, in plain language.

What you can do with it

  • Find companies that raised money in the last year and are hiring right now
  • See companies whose UCC liens are about to lapse in California or Colorado
  • Look up recently funded companies that also have a retirement or benefit plan
  • Spot companies where an executive just changed jobs and funding just came in
  • Browse a directory of lenders ranked by how many filings they have
  • Browse a directory of benefits brokers ranked by filings and commissions
  • Get AI-scored sales leads matched to your ideal customer (needs a paid seat)

Try asking your AI

  • “Which companies raised money in the last 12 months and are hiring right now?”
  • “Show me UCC liens lapsing in the next 12 months in California.”
  • “Find recently funded companies with a Form 5500 plan and a named carrier.”
  • “Which companies had an executive move and recent funding at the same time?”

What it gives back to you

You get back a list of companies or people that match your question, with the key details for each one, like the funding amount, the date, or the lender name. Each row also points to the Fundz page that supports it, so you can check the source. Your AI writes it up as a short answer or a table right in the chat. Nothing is changed on your side; it is just information coming back to you.

Before you start

What you need

  • An AI assistant that supports MCP servers, like Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, or Cline
  • Node.js installed on your computer if you use the npx option (the setup guide walks you through it)
  • A Fundz Pro or Strategic seat only if you want the paid tools like AI-scored leads and watchlists

Good to know

The paid tools need a Fundz Pro or Strategic seat, and your API key is like a password, so keep it private and do not share it in public chats.

Install it with your AI
