Telegram Archive MCP server

by GeiserX

Let your AI search and read your archived Telegram chats for you.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to your own Telegram Archive, the place where your saved Telegram chats live. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI questions about old conversations and it will look them up for you. It is handy if you keep a Telegram Archive and want to find things without clicking through it yourself.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to your Telegram Archive, so it can look up chats and messages there when you ask. You do not need to understand how it works inside; you just need to point it at your archive once.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something about your archived Telegram history, like whether a certain word ever came up. Your AI passes that request to this helper. The helper signs in to your Telegram Archive and searches or reads the messages there. Then it sends the results back, and your AI shows them to you in the chat. It only reads; it does not send messages or change anything in your archive.

What you can do with it

  • List the chats in your archive
  • Search messages by keyword
  • Read messages page by page
  • Get all messages from one calendar day
  • Show pinned messages in a chat
  • List forum topics in a chat
  • Show statistics for a chat

Try asking your AI

  • “Search my Telegram archive for messages about the holiday plan”
  • “Show me everything from the team chat on 14 March”
  • “What are the pinned messages in my family group?”
  • “List my archived chats and tell me which ones are most active”

What it gives back to you

You get back lists of chats, matching messages, or a summary of one day's conversation, shown right in the chat. Each message usually comes with the sender, the time and the text. For statistics, you get numbers like message counts. Nothing in your archive is changed.

Before you start

What you need

  • A running Telegram Archive instance you can reach
  • The web address of that archive
  • The username and password for the archive viewer
  • The Claude desktop app or another AI app that supports MCP servers

Good to know

It signs in to your Telegram Archive with your username and password, so keep those private and only point it at an archive you trust.
