LinkedIn Post Tracker MCP server
by mambalabsdev
Ask your AI to pull recent LinkedIn posts and public commenters from profiles and company pages.

This is a small helper that lets your AI fetch recent LinkedIn posts from people and companies you name, along with the reaction and comment counts and the commenters LinkedIn shows to anyone. It is handy if you keep an eye on a few profiles or competitors and want the numbers in your chat instead of clicking around. You do not need a LinkedIn account or a login for it.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill. This helper connects your AI to a service that reads public LinkedIn pages, so when you ask about a profile or a company page, the AI can go and look it up for you. You stay in the chat, and the AI does the fetching.
What this MCP server does
You tell your AI which LinkedIn profiles or company pages you care about. The AI passes those links to this helper, which sends them to a service called Apify that reads the public LinkedIn pages. Apify comes back with one row per post, plus one row per public commenter, and the helper hands that straight back to your AI. Your AI then shows you the posts, the reaction and comment counts, and the commenters it found. You can also set a date so older posts are skipped before anything is charged.
What you can do with it
- List recent posts from a LinkedIn person or company page
- Show reaction and comment counts for each post
- List the public commenters on each post
- Skip posts older than a date you choose
- Turn commenter collection off to only get posts
- Check how many commenters were collected versus how many exist
- Run the same check again later to spot new posts
Try asking your AI
- “Show me the last posts from https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates with their reaction and comment counts”
- “Get recent posts from https://www.linkedin.com/company/microsoft since 2026-08-01”
- “Who commented publicly on the latest posts from this company page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/microsoft”
- “Pull the last posts from these two profiles and tell me which one got the most comments”
What it gives back to you
You get back a set of rows in the chat. Each post row has the post, its reaction count, its comment count, and how many commenters were collected next to how many exist. Commenter rows name the people LinkedIn shows publicly, linked back to the post. Some rows are just notices, like a message saying no input was given.
Before you start
What you need
- An Apify account and an Apify token (a kind of password for apps; Apify gives you one for free on your account page)
- Apify credits, since each run is charged per post and per commenter collected
- The Claude desktop app or another AI app that supports MCP servers
- Node.js installed on your computer if you run it yourself
Good to know
It returns the names of real people who commented publicly, so you become responsible for that personal data, and each run costs Apify credits.
