Mandare MCP server
by mandarelabs · official
Check your AI agents' spending, verify their activity records, and shut them down when needed.
Mandare is a tool for keeping track of what your AI agents are doing and how much they are spending. It gives each agent a signed identity, a spending limit, and a tamper-proof record of every action. It is handy for anyone running AI agents that cost money or need to be stopped quickly.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to Mandare, so it can check budgets, verify records, and stop agents when you ask. It runs on your own computer, so your data stays with you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI to check on your agents or their spending. The AI uses this helper to talk to Mandare on your machine. Mandare looks at its records, checks the numbers, and tells the AI what it found. The AI then explains it back to you in plain words. You can also ask it to stop an agent or give a new agent its identity and limits.
What you can do with it
- Check how much each agent has spent today
- Verify that the activity record has not been changed
- Stop an agent that is running out of control
- Give a new agent a signed identity and spending limit
- See which agents are close to their budget
- Check if an agent's permission has been revoked
Try asking your AI
- “How much has agent-7 spent today?”
- “Verify the ledger and tell me if anything looks wrong.”
- “Kill agent-3 right now, it is spending too fast.”
- “Issue a passport and a 50 euro daily mandate for a new agent called research-bot.”
What it gives back to you
You get clear answers in the chat, like a spending total, a yes or no on whether the record is intact, or a list of agents and their limits. When you stop an agent, it tells you the agent is now stopped. When you issue a passport, it gives you the agent's new identity details.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 22.13 or newer
- The Mandare CLI installed (npm i -g @mandarelabs/cli)
- A ledger file (it creates one by default at ./mandare-ledger.db)
Good to know
This tool can stop agents and change their permissions, so be careful when you ask it to kill or issue new credentials.
Install it with your AI
Add Mandare MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Mandare MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
