BunkerWeb MCP server

by bunkerity · official

Lets your AI check and manage your BunkerWeb web firewall: services, bans, settings, and jobs.

This is a helper from the BunkerWeb team that connects your AI assistant to your BunkerWeb setup. BunkerWeb is a web application firewall, a tool that sits in front of your websites and blocks bad traffic. If you already run BunkerWeb and want to ask your AI about it in plain words, this is for you.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another app. This one connects your AI to BunkerWeb, so when you ask a question about your websites, bans, or settings, the AI can actually go and look them up or make the change for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something about your BunkerWeb setup, like which websites are protected or which IP addresses are banned. The AI sends that request to this helper. The helper talks to your BunkerWeb control panel using the address and login you gave it. BunkerWeb answers, and the helper hands the result back to your AI, which explains it to you in the chat. If you ask it to change something, like banning an address or updating a setting, the helper makes that change and tells you what happened.

What you can do with it

  • List the websites (services) BunkerWeb is protecting
  • Show which IP addresses are currently banned
  • Ban or unban an IP address
  • Check the status of your BunkerWeb instances
  • Read and update global configuration settings
  • Look at scheduler jobs and run one
  • Upload or remove plugins

Try asking your AI

  • “Which websites is BunkerWeb protecting right now?”
  • “Show me all the IP addresses that are currently banned”
  • “Ban the IP address 203.0.113.45”
  • “Check if all my BunkerWeb instances are healthy”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in plain chat: lists of websites, banned addresses, instance statuses, or settings. When you ask for a change, it tells you what it did and whether the change was confirmed. Some answers come back as short summaries with a note about whether the change was verified in the database.

Before you start

What you need

  • A running BunkerWeb setup with its control panel (API) reachable
  • The address of that BunkerWeb API
  • A login for it: either an API token or a username and password
  • Docker if you use the container method, or Python 3.11 or newer for the local method

Good to know

This helper can change your firewall settings, stop instances, delete services, and install plugins, so only connect it to an AI you trust with your BunkerWeb login.

Install it with your AI

Add BunkerWeb MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check BunkerWeb MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
