Safe Local Python Executor MCP server

by maxim-saplin

Lets your AI run small Python calculations safely on your own computer.

This is a small helper that gives your AI the ability to actually run Python code, not just talk about it. It is handy when you want real answers to math or data questions, like factorials, prime lists, or solving an equation. It runs the code in a limited, safer way than just letting your AI run anything on your machine.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something. This one gives your AI a safe place to run Python code on your computer, so when you ask for a calculation it can actually compute it instead of guessing. You install it once, and from then on your AI can use it whenever a question needs real math or code.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something that needs a calculation, like the factorial of 5 or a list of prime numbers. Your AI writes a short Python snippet and sends it to this helper. The helper runs that snippet in a restricted Python environment on your computer, with no file access and only a small set of allowed imports. Then it sends the result back to your AI, and your AI shows it to you in the chat.

What you can do with it

  • Run small Python calculations your AI writes for you
  • Compute factorials, primes, and other math results
  • Solve equations step by step using Python
  • Work with dates, times, and simple statistics
  • Use text patterns with regular expressions
  • Get exact numbers instead of guesses from your AI

Try asking your AI

  • “Calculate the factorial of 5 using Python”
  • “Create a list of prime numbers up to 100”
  • “Solve this equation using Python: x^2 + 5x + 6 = 0”
  • “Use Python to find the average of these numbers: 12, 7, 19, 4”

What it gives back to you

You get the result of the calculation back in the chat, usually as a number, a list, or a short piece of text. Your AI often explains what it did and shows the answer. It does not create files or change anything on your computer; it just runs the code and returns the output.

Before you start

What you need

  • The uv tool installed on your computer (a small program that runs Python projects)
  • The Claude for Desktop app (or another app that supports MCP servers)
  • A copy of this project folder on your computer

Good to know

It runs code your AI writes on your own computer, so stay with simple calculations and avoid asking it to do anything unusual.

Install it with your AI

Add Safe Local Python Executor MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Safe Local Python Executor MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
