Starknet MCP server

by mcpdotdirect

Lets your AI look up Starknet balances, blocks, tokens and Starknet IDs, and send ETH or STRK transfers.

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to Starknet, a blockchain network. Once it is set up, you can ask your AI plain questions about Starknet addresses, tokens, blocks and transactions, and it can also send token transfers for you. It is handy for anyone who works with crypto and does not want to click around block explorers all day.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to Starknet, so it can look things up there and do things for you when you ask. You do not need to understand how it works inside; you just ask in normal words.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something about Starknet, like a balance or a block. The AI passes your request to this helper program. The helper talks to the Starknet network, using either the main network or the Sepolia test network. It gets the answer back and hands it to your AI, which shows it to you in the chat. For transfers, the helper builds and sends the transaction and then tells you what happened.

What you can do with it

  • Check the ETH or STRK balance of any Starknet address
  • Look up a Starknet ID like vitalik.stark and get the address behind it
  • See details about a block, a transaction or a transaction receipt
  • Read information from a smart contract without changing anything
  • Check token supply, token info and NFT ownership
  • Send ETH, STRK or other tokens from one account to another
  • Run a write action on a smart contract

Try asking your AI

  • “What is the ETH balance of vitalik.stark on Starknet mainnet?”
  • “Show me the latest block on Starknet and how many transactions it has.”
  • “Look up the Starknet ID for address 0x049d36570d4e46f48e99674bd3fcc84644ddd6b96f7c741b1562b82f9e004dc7”
  • “Send 0.01 ETH to vitalik.stark from my account.”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat, usually as short lists or numbers. A balance comes back as an amount in ETH or STRK, and a Starknet ID lookup comes back as the matching address. Block and transaction questions come back as the details you asked for, like block number, status or receipt. A transfer comes back as a confirmation that the transaction was sent, with its details.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js 18 or newer on your computer (or Bun 1.0.0 or newer)
  • An AI assistant that supports MCP servers, like Claude Desktop or Cursor
  • A Starknet wallet with some funds if you want to send transfers

Good to know

The transfer and contract write tools can move real funds and change things on the blockchain, and blockchain transactions cannot be undone, so check the address and amount carefully before you confirm.

Install it with your AI

Add Starknet MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Starknet MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
