This is a small helper program that gives your AI assistant a connection to live Chinese stock market data. You ask a question in plain words, and the AI goes and fetches the numbers for you. It is handy for anyone who keeps an eye on A share stocks but does not want to open a trading app every five minutes.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. It cannot see today's prices or look anything up on the web by itself. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI one new skill. This one connects your AI to A share stock data, so when you ask about a stock, the AI can actually go and read the numbers and tell you what they are.

What this MCP server does

You type a question like 'how is Ping An Bank doing today'. Your AI passes that request to this helper program running on your own computer. The helper then contacts public stock data sources, such as Tencent, Eastmoney, and Sina, and pulls the numbers back. It checks the same figure across several sources to avoid mistakes. Then your AI shows you the result in the chat as a short, readable answer.

What it gives back to you

You get back a short written answer in the chat, things like the price, the percent change, trading volume, PE, and market value. For K lines you get a table of dates with open, close, high, and low prices. For sector money flow you get a ranked list of industries with the amounts flowing in or out.

Docker installed on your computer (the easiest way), or Python 3.10 or newer
The Claude desktop app or Cursor with MCP support
An internet connection during Chinese market hours for live data
