Gorilla MCP server
by opusforge
Lets your AI hunt Reddit, X, YouTube and Bluesky for people describing the problem your product solves.

Gorilla is a lead-finding service for people who sell software. This MCP server plugs Gorilla into your AI assistant, so you can ask in plain words for people complaining about a problem, and get back a ranked list of posts worth replying to. It is handy if you are a solo founder or marketer trying to find your first customers.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to Gorilla, a lead discovery service. Once it is set up, you ask your AI to find people talking about a problem, and it goes off to Gorilla and brings back the results.
What this MCP server does
You describe the problem your product solves, in your own words. Your AI passes that description to Gorilla through this helper. Gorilla searches Reddit, X, YouTube, LinkedIn and Bluesky at the same time for posts where people express that need. It scores each post as Hot, Warm or Cold based on how ready the person seems to buy. You get the list back in your chat, sorted so the most promising ones are on top.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Search five social platforms at once for people describing a problem you solve
- See results ranked Hot, Warm or Cold by how likely someone is to buy
- Filter by platform, by how recent the post is, and by how many results you want
- Re-open a past search without paying for it again
- Check your plan and how many credits you have left
- Use the leads as a starting point for outreach messages
Try asking your AI
- “Find people on Reddit and X in the last week complaining that their language learning app is boring”
- “Search for posts from the last 30 days where someone asks for a cheaper alternative to Notion for teams”
- “Look on YouTube and Bluesky for people saying they cannot keep track of their freelance invoices”
- “Show me my remaining credits and which plan I am on”
What it gives back to you
You get a list of posts, each with the platform it came from, the channel or community, the title, a link, and a Hot, Warm or Cold score. You also get a search ID you can use later to re-read the same results for free. If you ask about your account, you get your plan name and remaining credit balance. Everything shows up as text in your chat, so you can copy links straight into your browser.
Before you start
What you need
- A Gorilla account (free tier gives you 100 credits, no card needed)
- An API key from Gorilla, created in your account menu under API Keys
- Node.js installed on your computer if you run it with npx
Good to know
Each qualified lead it returns costs one credit, so a few searches can use up your free 100 credits quickly, and the paid plan is $14.99 a month for 2,000 credits.
Install it with your AI
Add Gorilla MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Gorilla MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
