Aviation MCP server
by Perufitlife
Lets your AI pull live airport weather, airport and aircraft details, aviation terms, and FAA-style quiz questions.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to live aviation data. Once it is set up, you can ask about the weather at an airport, look up an aircraft, or get quizzed on flying topics, and your AI will fetch the answers for you. It is handy for student pilots, flight sim fans, and anyone curious about aviation.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already learned. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to an aviation data service, so it can look up real weather reports, airport facts, aircraft specs, and practice questions when you ask. You do not need to know how it works inside; you just connect it once and then talk to your AI like normal.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like what the weather is at a specific airport. Your AI sends that request to this helper. The helper talks to the Rotate Pilot aviation service and gets the latest data. Then your AI shows you the answer in plain words in the chat. You can also ask it to compare aircraft, explain a flying term, or quiz you on FAA-style questions.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Check live weather at any airport by its four-letter code
- Look up airport details like runways, city, and elevation
- Compare specs of different aircraft like range and cruise speed
- Get plain definitions of aviation terms
- Practice with FAA-style exam questions
- See the aviation question of the day
Try asking your AI
- “What's the current weather at KJFK and is it VFR?”
- “Pull the specs for a Cessna 172 and a Piper Warrior and compare cruise speed and range.”
- “Give me 3 FAA meteorology practice questions and quiz me.”
- “What does the squawk code 7700 mean?”
What it gives back to you
You get answers written in the chat, like a weather summary, a list of airport details, or aircraft specs side by side. For quizzes, it gives you the question, the options, and the correct answer. Everything shows up as normal text you can read right away.
Before you start

Good to know
The hosted version charges a small fee for each tool call, so keep an eye on how often your AI uses it.
Install it with your AI
