ShopSavvy MCP server
by shopsavvy · official
Lets your AI look up product prices, offers and price history from ShopSavvy while you chat.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to ShopSavvy, a service that tracks prices for products across many shops. Once it is connected, you can just ask your AI things like what a product costs right now or whether the price has gone up lately, and it will fetch the answer for you. It is handy for anyone who shops online and wants to check prices without opening ten tabs.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to ShopSavvy, so it can look up products, prices and price history for you. You stay in the chat, and the AI quietly asks ShopSavvy behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a shopping question, like the price of a specific product or the best air fryer. The AI passes your question to this helper, which talks to ShopSavvy. ShopSavvy looks through its product and price data and sends back the details. Your AI then turns that into a normal answer in the chat, with prices, shops and history where relevant.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Find a product by barcode, ASIN, model number, name or web link
- Look up several products in one go
- Search the catalogue by keyword
- Compare current prices across many shops
- Check the price of a product at one specific shop
- See how a price changed over a chosen date range
- Read buying guides, reviews and common questions about a product
Try asking your AI
- “What's the best price for AirPods Pro right now?”
- “Show me the price history for B0D1XD1ZV3 over the last month.”
- “Best air fryers, and where are they cheapest?”
- “Is now a good time to buy a TV?”
What it gives back to you
You get back clear answers in the chat: product names, current prices, the shops selling them, and price history over time. For some questions it also gives short review summaries, pros and cons, or buying advice. It is all text you can read and copy, not files you have to open.
Before you start
What you need
- An AI assistant that supports MCP servers, such as Claude Desktop or ChatGPT
- For the local package: Node.js 18 or newer
- Optional: a ShopSavvy Data API key for higher usage limits (works without one, but slower)
Good to know
Without an API key your use is rate limited, so very frequent questions may be slowed down or refused until the limit resets.
Install it with your AI
