Shiply MCP server
by stevejford
Let your AI publish a website and manage its backend, domains, and email for you.

Shiply is a service that puts a website or small app on the internet for you. This MCP server connects your AI assistant to Shiply, so you can ask it in plain words to publish a page, check that it is live, or add a custom domain. It is handy if you want a real web address without learning how hosting works.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to Shiply, a place where websites live. Once connected, your AI can publish things to Shiply and manage them there when you ask.
What this MCP server does
You tell your AI what you want, like publishing a simple web page or checking on a site you made earlier. Your AI passes that request to this helper, and the helper talks to Shiply. Shiply puts the files online and gives back a live web address. Your AI then shows you that address in the chat, along with details like whether the site is working and its security certificate is valid.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Publish a folder of files as a live website and get a web address
- Check whether a site is live, secure, and working
- Undo a change by rolling back to an earlier version
- Add a custom domain and check that it is set up correctly
- Store secret settings like passwords for your site
- Send email from your site and read messages it receives
- See how many people visited your site and where they came from
Try asking your AI
- “Publish this folder as a website and give me the link”
- “Is my site merry-maple-3kf2 live and is its certificate working?”
- “Add my domain example.com to my site and check it”
- “Send an email from my site to hello@example.com saying the order shipped”
What it gives back to you
You get back a live web address you can open in a browser. You also get short status answers, like whether the site is live and its security is valid, or a small picture of the page. For email and analytics, you get lists and numbers, such as recent messages or visitor counts. Everything shows up as text in your chat.
Before you start
What you need
- An MCP client like Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Claude Code
- Nothing else for publishing a basic site (no account needed)
- A Shiply API key (a kind of password, starts with shp_) if you want to manage sites you own, add domains, or use databases
Good to know
It can publish, change, and delete your sites and send email on your behalf, so check the details before you say yes.
Install it with your AI
Add Shiply MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Shiply MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
People who want to put a simple website or app online without dealing with hosting details, like freelancers, small business owners, and office workers who build things with AI.
