HireJack is a service that tracks tech hiring: open jobs, companies, skills and salaries. This MCP server connects your AI assistant to that data, so you can ask questions in plain English instead of clicking around a job board. It is handy for anyone job hunting in tech, or just curious about what companies are hiring and what they pay.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. It cannot look up live job postings or check what a company is hiring for. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, in this case a connection to HireJack's job market data. Once it is set up, your AI can ask HireJack for jobs, companies, salaries and trends, and then explain the results to you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question, like which companies are hiring Rust engineers. Your AI passes that question to this helper, which talks to HireJack's servers. HireJack searches its live job postings and company data, then sends back the matches. Your AI reads that and writes you a normal answer in the chat, with the jobs, companies or numbers it found.

What it gives back to you
You get a written answer in the chat, built from real HireJack data. That might be a list of job postings with titles, companies and salaries, a company summary with its tech stack, or numbers like median pay and trending skills. Your AI can then sort, compare or summarise those results for you.
