HarmonyOS MCP server
by XixianLiang
Lets your AI control a HarmonyOS Next phone or tablet: open apps, tap, swipe, and read what is on screen.

This is a small helper program that connects your AI assistant to a HarmonyOS Next device, like a Huawei phone, tablet, or smart screen. Once it is set up, you can tell your AI in plain words what you want done on the device, and it will try to do it. It is handy for people testing HarmonyOS apps or anyone who wants to drive a device without tapping everything by hand.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something outside the chat. This one connects your AI to a HarmonyOS Next device, so the AI can look at the screen and act on it. You stay in the chat, and the helper does the work on the device when you ask.
What this MCP server does
You type a request in your AI chat, like asking it to open an app or tap a button. The AI sends that request to this helper program running on your computer. The helper talks to your HarmonyOS device and performs the action, such as launching an app or tapping a spot on the screen. Then it sends the result back, so the AI can tell you what happened or what it saw. You never have to touch the device yourself for those steps.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Open an app on the HarmonyOS device by name
- Tap, swipe, or press on the screen
- Read what is currently shown on the screen
- Walk through a simple task step by step on the device
- Check the state of the device before deciding the next move
Try asking your AI
- “Launch the app settings on the phone”
- “Open the browser and go to example.com”
- “Tap the button labeled Continue on the screen”
- “Tell me what is showing on the device right now”
What it gives back to you
You get short answers in the chat, like confirmation that an app opened or a tap was made. If you ask what is on screen, the AI describes the visible text and elements. If something fails, it usually tells you what went wrong so you can adjust your request.
