AI agent for ghostwriters

Editorial Revision Compliance Agent

A revision compliance map and response for the editor.

Editorial Revision Compliance Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

After an editorial round, writers often cannot easily prove they handled every request they accepted, and editors spend time hunting for changes. This agent maps each accepted editorial request to the passage that changed. It checks whether the change fully addresses the request, and flags partial or conflicting revisions. It also checks objective constraints such as word count limits and passages marked as protected. Suggestions the writer explicitly rejected are recorded as declined with the reason, not as missing. It then drafts a response letter with evidence for each request. The writer reviews and sends it to the editor. Edge case: two requests that pull in opposite directions are flagged as a conflict for the writer to resolve, not silently balanced.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

How it decides

It uses changed passages as evidence and respects rejections.

  • Rejected suggestions are listed as declined, not missing.
  • Partial changes are flagged, not counted as done.
  • Conflicting requests go to the writer.
  • Every addressed request cites the changed passage.

Make it yours

Every agent is a starting point. You choose these settings for your own situation.

  • Constraints to check (default: word count, protected passages)
  • Letter template and tone
  • How partial changes are flagged
  • Who sends the letter (default: the writer)
  • Whether to quote changed text (default yes)

What keeps you in control

It always asks you first

  • Submitting to the editor
  • Disputed intent

Hard limits

  • Never sends.

It stops when

  • Done: map ready.

An example run

What happensAn editor sent 18 requests for a 9,000-word essay. The agent maps 15 to changes. Request 7 asked to shorten the opening by half, but it was cut by only 20%. The check fails, so it drafts a follow-up note for the writer. Request 12 was explicitly rejected and is listed as declined. The final word count is 8,640, under the 9,000 limit. The writer sends the letter.
