What it does

Research for an essay can keep expanding without ever answering the central question. This agent keeps it focused. In each research session, it identifies the next evidence gap that matters most for the working thesis. It runs a bounded search, limited by time and number of sources, that is most likely to change the argument. If findings contradict the thesis, it revises the working thesis instead of dropping them. If a search finds nothing useful, it narrows the query and tries again. It refines the question and updates a short writing brief with the research trail. The writer decides when research is done. Edge case: a strong source from outside the essay's scope is logged for later, not used to widen the question.
