iOS Code Quality MCP server
by a-25
Let your AI run your iOS tests and check your Swift code style, then explain what went wrong.

This is a helper that connects your AI assistant to your iOS project. It can run your Xcode tests and check your Swift code with SwiftLint, then tell you in plain words what failed and where. It is handy if you build iPhone or iPad apps and want a hand with testing and code cleanup.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another tool. This one connects your AI to your iOS project on your own computer, so it can run tests and lint checks for you. You just ask in the chat, and the helper does the work behind the scenes.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like run the tests for my Login scheme. The AI passes that request to this helper, which runs the Xcode tests or the SwiftLint check on your machine. The helper reads the results, including build errors and test failures, and sends them back. Your AI then explains what happened, with file names and line numbers, so you know where to look.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Run your Xcode tests for a scheme
- Run just one test or one test class
- List all the tests available in your project
- Check your Swift files for style and quality issues with SwiftLint
- Get clear failure reports with file names and line numbers
- Run the same checks from your terminal as a command line tool
Try asking your AI
- “Can you run the tests for the LoginFeature scheme and tell me what failed?”
- “Run only the LoginTests for the MyApp scheme”
- “List all available tests in my project”
- “Please check the code quality of my changed Swift files with SwiftLint”
What it gives back to you
You get back a short summary in the chat, like all tests passed, or a list of what failed. For failures, it points to the file and line so you can jump straight there. For lint checks, it lists the style issues it found. Everything stays on your own computer.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 18 or newer
- Xcode installed on your Mac
- An iOS Simulator or a connected iPhone
- SwiftLint installed if you want code style checks (you can install it with brew install swiftlint)
Good to know
It runs real commands on your Mac, so it can start builds and tests and read your project files, which takes time and uses your machine.
Install it with your AI
