UEAgent MCP server

by CarlxsMG

Lets your AI build and edit things inside the Unreal Engine 5 editor for you, safely.

UEAgent is a helper that plugs into the Unreal Engine 5 editor, the program game makers use to build games. Once it is connected, your AI assistant can create and change things inside your Unreal project for you. It is handy for game developers and anyone working in Unreal who wants the AI to do the clicking and typing.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another program. This one connects your AI to the Unreal Engine 5 editor, so the AI can look things up and make changes there when you ask. You still work in Unreal like always, but now the AI can do tasks inside it for you.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something in plain words, like making a door that opens when the player walks up to it. The AI uses this helper to talk to your open Unreal editor. The helper creates or edits the things you asked for, like a Blueprint, a material, or a level. After each change, it checks the result to make sure it actually worked. Then it tells you what it did, and you see the changes in your project.

What you can do with it

  • Create a Blueprint actor with parts and logic
  • Find Blueprints that are broken and explain why
  • Make a new version of a material in a different color
  • Play the level, read values, take a screenshot, and stop
  • Build a short cutscene with a camera, a fade, and sound
  • Check which assets still use a vendor pack
  • Audit your project for problems, worst first

Try asking your AI

  • “Create a Blueprint actor BP_Door with a door mesh and a box trigger, and open the door with a timeline when the player overlaps the trigger.”
  • “Find every Blueprint under /Game that does not compile and tell me why.”
  • “Make a red variant of M_Base and put it on the crates in this level.”
  • “Play the level, read the player's health, take a screenshot, stop.”

What it gives back to you

You get answers in the chat, like a list of broken Blueprints with reasons, or a short summary of what changed. It can also give you screenshots and numbers it read from the editor. Every change it makes is one undo step, so you can press Ctrl+Z to take it back. If something did not work, it tells you instead of pretending it did.

Before you start

What you need

  • Unreal Engine 5.7 or 5.8 on Windows
  • The UEAgent plugin installed in your project
  • An AI client that can connect over HTTP, like Claude Code or Cursor

Good to know

The tools act with the editor's full rights, so they can save, rename and delete assets and run scripts, and anything you connect an agent to gets that same power.

Install it with your AI

Add UEAgent MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check UEAgent MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
