Citlyze MCP server
by citlyze · official
Ask your AI how visible your brand is in AI search answers, and get the numbers from Citlyze.

Citlyze is a service that tracks how often your brand shows up in answers from AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. This MCP server connects your AI assistant to your Citlyze workspace, so you can just ask questions in plain words instead of clicking around a dashboard. It is handy if you do marketing or SEO and want quick answers about brand visibility.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you using what it already knows. An MCP server is a small helper that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app. This one connects your AI to Citlyze, your AI search visibility workspace. Once it is connected, your AI can look up your scores, prompts, citations and competitor data in Citlyze and tell you what it finds.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI a question about your brand's AI search visibility. Your AI passes that question to this Citlyze helper. The helper talks to your Citlyze workspace using your API key and pulls the matching data. Then your AI turns that data into a normal answer in the chat, like a short report or a list. Everything here is read only, so your AI can look but cannot change anything in your workspace.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Check your brand's AI visibility score for the latest measurement window
- List the prompts you are tracking and see which ones are active
- See which domains get cited in AI answers for your prompts
- Compare your brand against tracked competitors
- Read the top optimization recommendations for your workspace
- Look at daily visits from AI crawlers like GPTBot and ClaudeBot
- Get per-engine and per-location numbers for a single prompt
Try asking your AI
- “How visible is my brand in AI answers this month?”
- “Which domains are being cited for my tracked prompts?”
- “How do I compare to my competitors in AI search right now?”
- “What are the top recommendations for improving my AI visibility?”
What it gives back to you
You get answers in the chat, built from your real Citlyze data. That can be a visibility score, a list of tracked prompts, a table of cited domains, a competitor comparison, or a set of recommendations. Some answers include counts and sample links, and crawler data comes back as daily visit numbers. Nothing is changed in your workspace, so it is always safe to ask.
Before you start
What you need
- A Citlyze account on a plan that includes API access
- A workspace API key from your Citlyze workspace settings (it looks like aeo_live_...)
- An AI tool that supports MCP servers, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or Gemini CLI
Good to know
This server can only read your Citlyze workspace, so it cannot change or delete anything, but keep your API key private since anyone who has it can read that workspace data.
