Instagram MCP server
Lets your AI post to Instagram, read your stats, manage comments and reply to DMs for you.

This is a small helper that connects your AI assistant to your Instagram account. Once it is set up, you can just type what you want in plain English and your AI will do it on Instagram for you. It is handy for creators, small businesses and professionals who post regularly but do not want to click through the app all day.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. It cannot see your Instagram or do anything there. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, in this case a connection to Instagram. So when you ask your AI to post a photo or check your reach, it passes the request to this helper, and the helper talks to Instagram for you.
What this MCP server does
You type a request in your normal chat, like asking to see your last posts or to publish a photo. Your AI sends that request to this helper program. The helper then talks to Instagram through Meta's official Instagram Login API, which is the approved way apps talk to Instagram. Instagram sends the answer back, and the helper hands it to your AI, which shows it to you in the chat. If you asked for a change, like posting or replying, the helper makes that change on your account.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Publish a photo, a reel or a carousel with a caption and hashtags
- Read your account insights, like reach, profile views and follower growth
- Check how each post performed, including saves, views and interactions
- Read comments on a post and reply to them
- Hide or delete unwanted or spam comments
- List your DM conversations, read messages and send replies
- Search public posts by hashtag
Try asking your AI
- “Show my last 10 posts and which got the most reach”
- “Post this image with the caption Monday motivation and these hashtags”
- “Read my DMs from today and draft replies for the questions”
- “What are my account insights for this week”
What it gives back to you
You get answers right in the chat, in normal sentences and short lists. For example, a list of your recent posts with their reach and saves, or a summary of your follower growth this week. If you asked it to post or reply, it tells you that the action was done. It can also show you the text of comments and DMs so you can decide what to say.
Before you start
What you need
- An Instagram Business or Creator account (personal accounts will not work)
- A Meta Developer app with the Manage messaging and content on Instagram use case
- An access token from that app, plus your numeric Instagram user ID
- Python 3.11 or newer if you run it on your own computer
Good to know
It can post, reply and permanently delete things on your real Instagram account, so check what your AI is about to do before you say yes.
Install it with your AI
