buildtree MCP server

by engineerdeep

Build your app, upload it, and get install links and a QR code for testers, all from your AI chat.

This is a helper that lets your AI build your mobile app and share it with testers. It works with Expo, React Native, Flutter, and plain Android or iOS apps. It is handy if you make apps and want to send a test version to people without doing the build steps by hand.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an app or service. This one connects your AI to buildtree, a service for sharing app builds with testers. Once it is connected, your AI can run your app build and upload it for you when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI to build and share your app. The AI uses this helper to look at your project and figure out what kind of app it is, like Expo or Flutter. The helper runs the build on your computer and uploads the finished file to buildtree. Then it gives you back an install link and a QR code you can send to testers. It can also show you the feedback and screenshots testers send in.

What you can do with it

  • Detect what kind of app project you have and suggest build commands
  • Run an Android or iOS build and show progress
  • Upload the finished .apk or .ipa to buildtree
  • Get an install link and a QR code image to share
  • List your past builds and grab links for any of them
  • Read tester feedback along with their screenshots
  • Sign in to your buildtree account through the browser

Try asking your AI

  • “Set up buildtree for this app and give me a QR code for an Android build.”
  • “Build my Flutter app and upload it so testers can install it.”
  • “Show me the latest tester feedback and screenshots for my app.”
  • “Get me the install link for the last iOS build.”

What it gives back to you

You get back an install link and a QR code image you can share with testers. You also get lists of your projects and past builds, and the feedback testers left, including their screenshots. It all shows up right in your chat, so you can copy the link or save the QR code.

Before you start

What you need

  • A buildtree account (the first sign in opens a browser page where you approve it)
  • Node.js 20 or later on your computer
  • Your app project on the same computer, for example an Expo, React Native, Flutter, or native app

Good to know

It runs real builds on your computer and uploads the files to buildtree, so make sure you are okay with your app being shared there before you start.

Install it with your AI

Add buildtree MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.

Sign in to get the install prompt

Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check buildtree MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,609 MCP servers here for you.
