This is a small helper that checks whether a website is set up so AI search tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI can actually read it. You give it a web address, and it tells you what is missing and what to change. It is handy if you run a website, write content, or handle marketing and want to know why your pages never show up in AI answers.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill, in this case the ability to inspect a website for AI-search readiness. Once it is connected, you can just ask your AI about a site and it will run this checker behind the scenes. You never have to open a terminal or remember any commands.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something like whether your site is visible to AI search. The AI passes the web address to this helper. The helper visits the site and looks at a handful of technical things: whether AI crawlers are allowed in, whether the page has structured data, whether the title and description are in good shape, whether there are Open Graph tags, whether there is a sitemap, and whether an llms.txt file exists. It then hands back a score out of 100, a letter grade, and one concrete fix for each thing that failed.

What you can do with it

  • Score any website from 0 to 100 for AI-search readiness
  • See which AI crawlers are blocked in the site's robots.txt
  • Find out if the page is missing structured data (JSON-LD)
  • Check the title, meta description and Open Graph tags
  • Confirm whether an XML sitemap and llms.txt exist
  • Get a plain-language fix for every failing check
  • Generate starter JSON-LD and a crawler-friendly robots.txt for the site

Try asking your AI

  • “Is my website visible to AI search? Check example.com”
  • “Run the AI readiness check on my company homepage and tell me what to fix first”
  • “Score this site for AI search and explain the grade in plain words”
  • “Generate starter structured data and a robots.txt for my site”

What it gives back to you

You get a short report right in the chat: a score out of 100, a letter grade, and a line for each check showing pass, fail or warning. Every failing check comes with one specific fix, like adding Organization and FAQPage structured data or adding og:image. If you ask for the fixes, it also gives you starter JSON-LD text and a robots.txt you can copy.

Before you start

What you need

  • The Claude desktop app or another app that supports MCP servers
  • Node.js 18 or newer installed on your computer
  • An internet connection so the checker can visit the site

Good to know

It only reads public web pages, so nothing on your computer or accounts is touched, but the score is a technical check and does not prove whether AI engines actually cite your site.
