SolMail is a helper that lets your AI assistant send actual physical mail, like a letter or a postcard, to a real street address. You write what you want to say, your AI puts it together, and it gets printed and mailed through a printing service. It is handy if you want to send a thank you note, a card, or a short letter without leaving your chat window.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to an outside service. This one connects your AI to SolMail, a service that prints and mails real letters. Once it is connected, you can just ask your AI to send a letter, and it will handle the steps for you.

What this MCP server does

You tell your AI who the letter is for and what it should say. Your AI asks SolMail for a price quote based on the country and whether you want color printing. If you agree, your AI pays with Solana cryptocurrency from a wallet you set up. SolMail then sends the letter to a printing partner, which prints it and hands it to the postal service. You get back a confirmation with a tracking number and an estimate of when it will arrive.

What you can do with it

  • Get a price quote for mailing a letter to a specific country
  • Send a physical letter to a real address
  • Send a postcard
  • Check how much Solana is left in your AI's wallet
  • Get the wallet address so you can add funds
  • Choose color printing for an extra small fee
  • Test the whole thing on a practice network at no cost

Try asking your AI

  • “Send a thank you note to John Doe at 123 Main St, San Francisco, CA 94102”
  • “How much would it cost to mail a letter to Japan?”
  • “What is my Solana wallet balance right now?”
  • “Send a birthday postcard to my friend at 45 Oak Avenue, Austin, TX 78701”

What it gives back to you

You get a short answer in the chat with the price, a letter ID, a tracking number, the amount of Solana paid, and an estimated delivery window. For quotes, you just see the cost. For wallet checks, you see the balance in Solana. It also tells you if something went wrong, like a bad address.

Before you start

What you need

  • A Solana wallet with some SOL in it (this is the crypto used to pay)
  • The private key for that wallet, written as a base58 string (the README explains this)
  • Node.js installed on your computer so npx can run
  • An MCP-compatible AI app like Claude Desktop

Good to know

This spends real cryptocurrency and sends real physical mail, so double check the address and the letter before you say yes, and keep only a small amount of money in the wallet you give it.

Install it with your AI
