Callout MCP server
Get your AI to review your project from 9 expert angles, coach your AI habits, and score your ideas.

Callout is a helper that plugs into your AI coding tool and gives it a set of expert opinions about your project. Think of it as a second pair of eyes: a CTO, a security person, a product manager, an investor and more, all looking at what you built. It is handy if you use AI to write code fast and want someone to check you are building the right thing.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to something useful. Callout is that helper: it hands your AI a set of expert viewpoints and review steps, so when you ask for a review, the AI actually follows a real process instead of just guessing. You do not need to be technical to use it, you just talk to your AI like normal.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI something like review this project. The AI then uses Callout, which gathers basic facts about your project like the files, the dependencies and the git history. Callout turns that into expert-perspective prompts, and your AI works through them. You get back a written review with findings sorted into MUST FIX, SHOULD FIX and GOOD, plus effort estimates. Callout itself never calls an AI service, so it costs nothing extra and needs no API key.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Get a 9-perspective review of your project sorted by priority
- Ask for a review focused on one decision, like which database to use
- Get coaching on your AI collaboration habits and blind spots
- Score a new idea across 10 dimensions and get a clear verdict
- Bind official docs to parts of your code so the AI reads them first
- Turn confusing test output into a plain-language test plan
- See all your findings and progress in one todo list
Try asking your AI
- “Review this project”
- “Coach me”
- “Score this idea”
- “Review focus: should I use Supabase or Firebase?”
What it gives back to you
You get written answers in your chat, not files. A review comes back as an executive summary followed by findings grouped into MUST FIX, SHOULD FIX and GOOD, each with an effort estimate. Coaching gives you an improvement checklist, and idea scoring gives you a verdict like CONTINUE, SIMPLIFY, PAUSE or DELETE. Findings can also be saved into a todo list you can view later.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js installed on your computer (the setup command uses npx)
- An AI coding tool that supports MCP, like Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or Windsurf
- Run the setup command from inside your project folder
Good to know
Callout reads your project files and git history to build its reviews, so only run it on projects you are comfortable sharing with your AI tool.
Install it with your AI
Add Callout MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed
You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
Sign in to get the install prompt
Members get a ready-made prompt that lets the Claude desktop app check Callout MCP server, install it and connect it for them, step by step. You don't need any technical skills: you copy, paste and answer a few questions. Your connected AI can also find and install any of the 4,066 MCP servers here for you.
Who it's for
Solo developers, indie makers and small teams who use AI coding tools and want a sanity check before they build too much.
