GeoWire MCP server
by geowire
Let your AI find places, give directions, and analyze neighborhoods right inside your chats.

GeoWire is a free tool that connects your AI assistant to maps and location information. You can ask it things like "where is the closest pharmacy" or "how long is the drive to the airport," and it goes off, checks several mapping services, and comes back with an answer. It is especially useful if part of your job involves looking up addresses, planning routes, or checking out areas around a shop or office.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only talk based on what it already learned during training. An MCP server is a little helper program that runs quietly alongside your AI and hands it extra skills whenever needed. With GeoWire plugged in as your MCP server, your AI gains access to live map and place data instead of guessing. So when you ask something geographic, the AI sends the question to GeoWire, GeoWire asks the actual map companies, and brings facts straight back to your conversation.
What this MCP server does
When you type a request such as finding nearby restaurants or getting walking directions, your AI passes it along to GeoWire behind the scenes. GeoWire then reaches out to whichever map services fit best for that task, gathers the matching info, cleans duplicates away, and picks reliable values from each source. Finally, it packages everything nicely and drops it back into your chat window as readable text plus structured detail underneath. Nothing else changes in how you work day-to-day except now geography questions actually have correct answers.
