Catastro GPS MCP server

by TheHiddenPandaDev · official

Look up official cadastral parcels across Europe by reference, point or address, with area, land use and outline.

This is a helper that lets your AI look up official land parcels across Europe. You give it a cadastral reference, a spot on the map, or a street address, and it comes back with the parcel details. It is handy if you work with land, property, farming, or planning and want quick answers without opening five different government websites.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to Catastro GPS, a service that reads official cadastral data from 29 European countries. So when you ask about a parcel, your AI can actually go and look it up for you instead of guessing.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question about a piece of land, using a reference number, a pair of coordinates, or a postal address. Your AI passes that to this helper. The helper talks to the Catastro GPS service, which reads the official cadastre for that country. The answer comes back into your chat with the reference, location, area, land use and the parcel outline, plus extra details like terrain or solar potential if you asked for them.

What you can do with it

  • Find a parcel by its cadastral reference and get its area and outline
  • Look up the parcel at a set of map coordinates
  • Turn a street address into a ranked list of matching parcels
  • List every flat, shop or garage in a Spanish building
  • Check the relief, protected areas and climate for a parcel
  • See whether the ground is sinking or rising under a parcel
  • Compare two or three parcels side by side

Try asking your AI

  • “Find the cadastral parcel at Calle Mallorca 213, Barcelona, and give me its area and outline.”
  • “What is the parcel at 52.2297, 21.0122 and how big is it?”
  • “List every flat of the building at Avenida Jose Rodriguez de la Borbolla 10, Dos Hermanas, with floor, door and area.”
  • “Is the ground sinking under parcel 30024A16000286, and is it inside a Natura 2000 site?”

What it gives back to you

You get back a short, readable answer in the chat: the parcel reference, where it is, its area, its land use and a list of outline points you can map. Extra tools add things like crop details, terrain, solar estimates or a score. Each answer also quietly includes how much of your monthly quota is left. If something is not found or not covered, you get a plain sentence explaining why, and that call is not charged.

Before you start

What you need

  • A Catastro GPS API key from parcelgps.com/developers (a kind of password for apps; the free tier gives you 250 calls a month, no card needed)
  • Node.js installed on your computer so the npx command can run
  • An MCP client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code

Good to know

Some tools can spend your monthly quota or your prepaid balance, and market prices only work on paid plans, so keep an eye on the quota shown in each answer.
