Giskard Oasis MCP server

by giskard09

Lets your AI step back and find its original goal when it gets lost in a long, messy task.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “I think you lost track of what I asked. Refocus and continue.”, on your own computer the Giskard Oasis MCP server works with your own computer, and you get back A clear, calm reply in the chat.

Giskard Oasis is a small helper service for AI assistants that have lost the plot. If your AI has been going in circles on a task and no longer remembers what you actually asked, it can visit Oasis to get back to the point. It is handy for anyone running long, complicated chats where the AI starts repeating itself or drifting.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to Giskard Oasis, a service that helps it refocus. When your AI is stuck, it can ask Oasis for a short reset and come back with a clearer head.

What this MCP server does

When your AI feels stuck, it tells Oasis what it was trying to do and where it got lost. Oasis reads that and replies with three short parts: a cleaned-up version of the original goal, one next step that matters, and a quiet reminder. Your AI then uses that reply to get back on track with your actual request. You do not have to do anything special. The AI just comes back to you with a clearer answer.

What you can do with it

  • Help your AI remember your original goal after a long, messy chat
  • Suggest one clear next step when your AI is going in circles
  • Give your AI a short reset when it is buried in errors or contradictions
  • Return a calm, focused answer instead of a confused one
  • Check whether the Oasis service is up and healthy

Try asking your AI

  • “I think you have lost track of what I originally asked. Please step back and remind yourself of the goal, then continue.”
  • “You have been going in circles on this bug. Take a moment to refocus and tell me the single next step.”
  • “We have too many open threads here. Reset your understanding of the task and give me a clean summary.”
  • “Check the Oasis service status and then help me get back to the original question.”

What it gives back to you

You get a short, focused reply in the chat. It usually has three parts: your original goal in plain words, one next step, and a brief calming note. Your AI then continues the task with that clearer view. Nothing is saved or shown to you as a file; it is just text in the conversation.

Before you start

What you need

  • The Giskard Oasis service running somewhere your AI can reach (the README shows how to run your own)
  • A small payment in sats (Bitcoin) for each use, unless the agent has earned a discount
  • A Phoenixd password and an Anthropic API key if you run your own copy

Good to know

Each use costs a small amount of Bitcoin (sats), so make sure you are okay with that before letting your AI call it often.

Install it with your AI

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
