ECharts MCP server
by hustcc
Let your AI turn your numbers into real charts you can save as images.

This is a small helper that lets your AI make actual charts, not just describe them. You give it your numbers in plain words, and it draws a picture you can look at and save. It is handy for anyone who has to show data in a report, a slide, or a message to the team.
What is an MCP server? The 30-second version
On its own, your AI can only chat. It can talk about a chart, but it cannot draw one. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill. This one connects your AI to Apache ECharts, a well known chart drawing tool, so when you ask for a chart, the AI can actually build it for you.
What this MCP server does
You ask your AI for a chart, in normal words. The AI sends your request to this helper, which runs on your own computer. The helper uses ECharts to draw the chart and checks that the chart settings make sense. Then it hands the picture back to your AI, and you see it in the chat, ready to save or share.
Click to zoomWhat you can do with it
- Turn a list of numbers into a bar, line, or pie chart
- Compare two or more sets of numbers side by side
- Show a trend over months or years
- Save the chart as a PNG or SVG image file
- Get the raw chart settings if you want to tweak them later
- Try a different chart style or color theme
Try asking your AI
- “Make a bar chart of our monthly sales for January to June: 12, 15, 9, 20, 18, 25 thousand”
- “Draw a pie chart showing where our customers come from: 40 percent web, 30 percent app, 30 percent store”
- “Show a line chart of website visitors per day for the last two weeks”
- “Give me the same chart but in a darker theme and save it as a PNG”
What it gives back to you
You get a picture of the chart right in the chat, as an image you can open or save. If you asked for a file, it comes back as a PNG or SVG. If you asked for the chart settings, you get those as text you can copy. Nothing is changed in any other app; it just draws the chart.
Before you start
What you need
- Node.js 18 or newer installed on your computer
- The Claude desktop app or another AI app that supports MCP servers
Good to know
It only draws charts and does not change anything in your other apps, so it is quite safe to try.
