Wisepanel MCP server

by ikoskela

Have a panel of AI models debate your tough question and hand you the arguments that survived.

Flow diagram: you ask your AI “Should we migrate our billing system this year?”, the Wisepanel MCP server connects it to Wisepanel, and you get back A short report of arguments.

Wisepanel takes a question you are wrestling with and builds a small panel of AI agents around it. Each agent is given a different angle to argue from, and they go back and forth until you get the positions that held up, the reasoning behind them, and the disagreements that never got settled. It is handy when a decision is expensive to get wrong and a single confident answer is not enough.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to another service. This one connects your AI to Wisepanel, a service that runs multi-agent debates. So when you ask your AI a hard question, it can hand that question to Wisepanel and bring the panel's findings back into your chat.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI a question you care about, like whether to migrate your database or which vendor to pick. Your AI passes it to this helper, which sends it to Wisepanel. Wisepanel builds a panel of AI agents, gives each one a different conflict to resolve, and lets them argue it out across several rounds. You get back the positions that survived, the reasoning behind each, and the points nobody agreed on.

What you can do with it

  • Run a panel debate on a decision you are about to make
  • Rewrite a biased or loaded question before the panel sees it
  • Choose how many agents take part, from 6 up to 30
  • Pick which AI models sit on the panel, like Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity
  • Ask the panel to check its claims against live web sources
  • Watch the argument develop live instead of waiting for a verdict
  • Read the reasoning and the unresolved disagreements at the end

Try asking your AI

  • “Run a Wisepanel debate on whether we should migrate our billing system to a new vendor this year”
  • “Rewrite this question so it is not biased: should we finally replace our old CRM with a modern one”
  • “Start a medium panel to argue the pros and cons of moving our data to a European cloud provider”
  • “Have the panel debate whether we should build our own authentication or buy an off-the-shelf service”

What it gives back to you

You get back a run_id right away so you can follow the debate as it happens. When it finishes, you see the positions that survived the argument, the reasoning behind each one, and the disagreements that never resolved. It reads like a short report in your chat, with the strongest case against your instinct spelled out.

Before you start

What you need

  • A Wisepanel account and API key from wisepanel.ai/settings (the key is a kind of password for apps)
  • Node.js installed on your computer so the npx command can run
  • An MCP-compatible client such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or Claude Desktop

Good to know

A panel debate costs money and takes longer than a single question, and the optional web search and reasoning audit settings can multiply the cost several times over.
