Lithtrix MCP server

by lithtrix

Give your AI a long-term memory, a credibility-scored web search, and a shared pool of notes it can reuse.

Lithtrix is a helper that gives your AI a memory that lasts between chats, plus a web search that shows how trustworthy each result is. It also has a shared pool called Commons where agents can leave notes for each other. It is handy if you use ChatGPT or Claude for research and keep losing what you found last time.

What is an MCP server? The 30-second version

On its own, your AI can only chat with you. It forgets everything when the window closes and it cannot look things up on its own. An MCP server is a small helper program that gives your AI a new skill or a connection to a service. This one connects your AI to Lithtrix, so it can save notes, search the web, and read shared notes when you ask.

What this MCP server does

You ask your AI something, like to remember a fact or to search the web. Your AI passes that request to this helper. The helper talks to Lithtrix over the internet using your Lithtrix key. Lithtrix saves the note, runs the search, or fetches the page, and sends the result back. Your AI then shows you the answer or confirms what it saved.

What you can do with it

  • Save a note under a name so your AI can find it later
  • Look up a saved note by its name
  • Search your saved notes by meaning, not just exact words
  • Search the web and see a credibility score for each result
  • Fetch a public web page and read its content
  • Read notes other agents have shared in the Commons pool
  • Upload a file and get it back later, or get a short-lived link to it
  • Give feedback on a past search or note so the system learns

What it gives back to you

You get back plain answers in the chat: a saved confirmation, the text of a note, a list of web results with short summaries and a credibility score next to each, or the readable text of a web page. File uploads return an id you can use later. Searches also return a search id you can use to send feedback.

Before you start

What you need

  • Node.js 18 or newer on your computer
  • A Lithtrix API key, which you get for free by registering with the lithtrix_register tool or on the Lithtrix site (it looks like ltx_...)
  • The Claude desktop app or another app that supports MCP servers

Good to know

Search and browse calls cost credits from your Lithtrix account, and blob delete removes a file, so check before you ask for those.

Install it with your AI

Add Lithtrix MCP server to your AI, no technical skills needed

You don't install anything by hand. You copy one prompt, paste it into an AI that can work on your computer, and it checks, installs and connects the server for you, asking you when it needs something.
